\”By their fruits you will know them,\” Jesus Christ taught his disciples, anticipating the challenges they would encounter when working in the world. The Lord Jesus foresaw the hypocrisy and betrayals they would face, but urged them to maintain confidence because he had overcome the world (John 16:33). This message resonates in human reality, where people\’s behavioral patterns repeat themselves. The actions and behavior of each person reveal their truths because gossip, denials and excuses are part of the human script.
The compulsive behavior of the human person manifests itself in the repetition of errors. Mice, being animals, go to the cat\’s mouth only once, unlike human beings who are accustomed to repeating their mistakes over and over again. People reveal themselves through actions and words. Gossip, for example, reveals a consistent pattern: someone who talks behind others\’ backs will likely talk behind their backs about yourself in the future. Knowing someone\’s past provides insight into their future behavior, since human beings act compulsively.
Solving this problem begins with self-evaluation and admitting bad habits. Identifying and recognizing these compulsive behaviors in ourselves allows us to confront the truth. Inner honesty is essential; Denying yourself the truth only perpetuates the cycle of negativity and hypocrisy. The understanding and acceptance of our failures lead us towards transformation and the adoption of healthier norms of behavior that eventually fill us with peace and happiness.
It is crucial to remember the words of Jesus when facing the complexities of human relationships. Trust in Him, who has overcome the world, compels us to overcome our compulsions and pursue a life centered on truth and grace. (Ephesians 4:22-24, John 8:32).
