It is not a question of if it will happen, but rather the real question should focus on when it will happen. The Bible prophesies events that have recently made global news headlines. The scriptures prophetically tell us that a perfect storm is approaching that will shake nations in all areas: financial, political, spiritual and military. In this context, the glory of God will eventually be manifested to all nations.
The prophecy in question describes nations symbolically and calls them beasts, each with their own political ideologies and economic systems. Curiously, it is these same nations that push the world towards the abyss and lead it to ruin. These nations, the scriptures prophesy, will eventually become the cradle of Antichrist\’s power; They are the ones who will give him the economic, political and military power with which he subjects the world to his authority, power and will.
In the book of Daniel 7:1-8, visions of four beasts are detailed, representing world powers, easily identifiable today as modern nations. Daniel 7:5 illustrates one of these beasts as a bear, a symbol commonly associated with Russia, known as the Russian Bear due to its economic, political, military, and nuclear influence. Biblical prophecy describes this bear as rising on one side more than the other, with three ribs between its teeth, ribs that possibly represent Belarus, Crimea and today, as of two years ago, Ukraine.
Recently, on February 10, 2024, during a political rally, Donald Trump expressed his willingness that Russia will act according to its will with NATO member countries that do not pay enough. These words, although ignorant of biblical prophecy, surprisingly coincide with it, pointing out the events that are expected and coming in these last times.
These verses invite us to reflect on the role of nations in prophetic events and to be alert to world events that could be fulfilling scripture. Spiritual wisdom and discernment are essential in these turbulent times to understand the times we live in and prepare for what is to come.
The prophecy of Revelation 6 presents us with the vision of four horsemen, each riding a horse of a different color: white, red, black and yellow. These horses symbolize political, religious and economic systems that influence the world.
In Revelation 6:1-2, the first rider rides a white horse. This horse represents the political-religious system identified with the Roman Catholic Church. The color white suggests an appearance of purity or holiness, which is reflected in the Pope’s clothing and other ecclesiastical symbols. Although the rider carries a bow, he has no arrows, which could symbolize his involvement in conflicts without direct engagement in physical violence. The crown he wears indicates political-imperial power, representing the influence and historical dominance of the Catholic Church over different territories and peoples. In fact, there are many nations that identify as Catholic countries due to their heritage and political-religious identity with the Roman Catholic Church.
Understanding the symbolism behind these riders and their horses is essential to interpreting the implications of these prophetic visions in the current context and understanding how they influence world events and the fulfillment of scripture. This white horse will also become the false prophet, who together and hand in hand with the antichrist, will lead the world into World War II (Revelation 19:20).
Revelation 6: 3-4 presents us with the opening of the second seal, revealing another rider and his horse, russet or red in color. This horse symbolizes the nations governed under the flag of communism-socialism, characterized by their political ideology. Countries such as China, Russia and Cuba are prominent examples of this trend. The color red evokes the association with communism and its influence on world politics.
The biblical text indicates that the horseman is given \”power to take peace from the land, and to kill one another,\” which reflects the history of these nations under communist regimes. Many of these governments have come to power through internal conflicts and civil wars, causing the deaths of their own citizens in struggles for political control. Examples such as the Russian Revolution of 1917, the rise of Mao in China in 1949, and the Castro regime in Cuba in 1959 illustrate this historical pattern of violence and confrontation in the pursuit of communist power.
It is essential to understand how these biblical prophecies shed light on historical and current events, highlighting political and social trends that have shaped the world. Interpreting these symbols helps us discern historical patterns and reflect on the spiritual and social implications of present events.
In Revelation 6:5-6, the third seal reveals another rider and his horse, this time black in color. This horse represents the political-economic system known as capitalism. The presence of a scale in the rider\’s hands symbolizes the market or stock exchange, highlighting the importance of trade in this system.
The biblical text states: \”Two pounds of wheat for a denarius, and six pounds of barley for a denarius; but do not harm the oil or the wine.\” This description reflects the essence of capitalism, where supply and demand determine prices. References to wheat and barley indicate staple foods, while oil and wine represent wealth and economic prosperity. Protecting oil and wine suggests the priority of preserving the economy in this system.
A historical example of the importance of economics in politics is Bill Clinton\’s presidential campaign in the 1990s, where his slogan was, \”It\’s the economy, stupid.\” This illustrates how political leaders recognize the centrality of economics in decision-making and the influence of capitalism in modern society.
Understanding these Bible prophecies allows us to reflect on the political and economic systems that affect our lives and how they may influence future events. Interpreting these symbols helps us discern the spiritual and social implications of the systems that shape the world in which we live.
In Revelation 6:7-8, we are presented with the opening of the fourth seal, revealing another rider and his horse, this time yellow. This horse symbolizes death, and the rider is named as \”Death\”, closely followed by Hades. The description details that he is granted power over a quarter of the earth, authorizing him to kill with different calamities.
It is important to note that the Greek term originally translated as \”yellow\” has its root in the word \”chloros\”, which is also the root of the word \”chlorophyll\”, the pigment that gives the green color to tree leaves. Therefore, the color of this horse is closer to green or yellowish. This association leads us to consider the symbolism of the color green in a political-religious context, which is represented by Islam.
Islam, as a political-religious system, controls approximately a quarter of the world\’s population and is identified with the color green in many of its symbolic representations. The scriptures prophesy that this system would have power over a quarter of the earth and would be responsible for causing death and destruction through different means, including the sword, famine, disease, and wild beasts.
The presence of this rider and his yellow-green horse reminds us of the reality of death and suffering that accompany political-religious conflicts in many parts of the world. Nobody ignores at this point that in every place where this yellowish or greenish horse that represents the Muslim political-religious system is present, death, pain and suffering accompany it. Understanding these biblical prophecies is crucial to discerning the spiritual and social implications of world events and seeking a deeper understanding of our time and the political and religious dynamics that characterize it.
In summary, in biblical interpretation, the beasts represent the nations, while the horses and their riders symbolize the political-religious systems of government that will emerge in recent times and that will reach their culmination during World War III. These global political-religious systems of government will serve the antichrist and, by extension, the false prophet in the end times.
The destructive influence of these evil powers is manifested in the death of one-third of the earth\’s inhabitants, as prophesied in the Scriptures. This catastrophic event represents the climax of evil and corruption that will characterize the apocalyptic events of the end times.
It is essential to understand the symbolism and biblical prophecies related to these political-religious systems to discern the signs of the times and prepare spiritually for the events to come. World War III, with its devastation and loss of life on an unprecedented scale, serves as a vivid reminder of prophetic realities and the importance of being alert and prepared for future events.
